Farnborough, 24th May 2016 - TAG Aviation Maintenance Services Europe is pleased to announce it is currently undertaking its first 8C inspection on a Global Express aircraft. The 8C inspection project, which started last month, is being carried out at TAG Farnborough’s Maintenance Services Centre and includes a full strip and repaint to the aircraft’s original livery in addition to a partial cabin refurbishment which will be undertaken at TAG’s other heavy Maintenance Services Centre based in Geneva.
As the largest maintenance event to be undertaken on a Global Express, the 8C (120-month) inspection requires extensive dismantling of the cabin for a thorough check of the airframe and structures, a major overhaul of the landing gear, examination of all operating systems and a detailed review of the aircraft’s flight documents. The aircraft’s in-cabin connectivity is also to receive an upgrade to SwiftBroadband and a new Satcom Direct Router is being installed to provide the latest in-flight TV which includes Global VT, Aero XR and Sky Ticket - all supplied by Satcom Direct.
“Following a competitive bidding process, we are delighted to have been selected to perform this first 8C inspection”, said Greg Hoggett, Managing Director for TAG Aviation Farnborough Maintenance Services. “This is a significant milestone project and consolidates TAG Maintenance Services Europe as highly capable and comprehensive heavy maintenance Centres to undertake such large inspections. We are already planning our second 8C Global Express inspection project at Farnborough that will get underway shortly and incorporate a full revarnish to the aircraft cabin’s interior woodwork and the installation of a Honeywell Ovation cabin management system.”
TAG Aviation has heavy maintenance centres in Geneva and Farnborough and also offers comprehensive maintenance services in Sion, Paris, Clermont-Ferrand, Madrid, Lisbon (network), Hong Kong and Lomé in Togo.
